Entering into her world

After getting back into the car, Nidhi started the engine but kept glancing at the unconscious man lying across the back seat.

"But where are we even supposed to take him?" she asked.

Ridhima looked back at him.

"Obviously, the hospital."

Nidhi made a face.

"And what if he files a report against us later? You know... in the name of an accident?"

Ridhima paused.

"Well... that's actually a fair point."

"Exactly!"

"But he could be injured too, Nidhi. We can't just leave him there."

Nidhi sighed dramatically.

"Fine. Hospital it is."

The rain continued falling as they drove toward the nearest hospital.

---

After reaching the hospital, the doctors immediately took the unconscious man for examination.

About thirty minutes later, a doctor walked out of the emergency room.

"There's nothing serious to worry about," he said. "His vital signs are normal. He appears healthy. He's simply unconscious."

Nidhi visibly relaxed.

"Thank goodness. We found him in the middle of the road," she quickly said.

Ridhima opened her mouth, ready to tell the doctor the truth about what had happened.

Before she could speak-

Pinch!

"Ishhh!" Ridhima hissed.

Nidhi smiled innocently.

"What?"

Ridhima glared at her.

The doctor nodded politely before leaving.

Nidhi immediately grabbed her bag.

"Great. Problem solved. Let's leave before the aadimanav wakes up and starts asking questions."

Ridhima rolled her eyes.

Just as they were about to leave, a nurse called out.

"Excuse me, miss. We need someone to complete a few forms."

Before either of them could respond, Nidhi's phone started ringing.

She looked at the screen and immediately paled.

"Oh no."

"What happened?" Ridhima asked.

"My mother."

Ridhima instantly understood.

Nidhi answered the call and after a few seconds whispered, "I'm dead."

Ridhima laughed despite herself.

Nidhi turned to her with pleading eyes.

"Ridhima, please forgive me, but I have to go. You know how my family is."

Ridhima nodded.

"Go. I'll handle it."

"You sure?"

"Yes."

After giving her friend one last apologetic look, Nidhi hurried away.

---

About an hour later, Ridhima was sitting outside the room when a doctor approached her.

"Miss?"

Ridhima stood up immediately.

"Doctor? What happened?"

"The patient has regained consciousness."

Relief washed over her face.

"Oh, thank God."

The doctor hesitated.

"But there is something unusual."

Ridhima's smile faded.

"What do you mean?"

"When we asked him basic questions, he seemed confused. He doesn't remember who he is, where he came from, or how he got here."

Ridhima frowned.

"What?"

"It appears to be a temporary memory disturbance."

"Memory loss?" she asked in disbelief.

"Something similar."

"But that's impossible," Ridhima said. "He doesn't have any injuries, right?"

"Physically, he's perfectly fine," the doctor replied. "No head trauma, no fractures, no signs of serious injury."

"Then how can he forget everything?"

The doctor folded his arms thoughtfully.

"Memory loss isn't always caused by visible injuries. Sometimes a person can experience psychological shock, extreme stress, emotional trauma, or temporary dissociation. In rare cases, the memory simply becomes inaccessible for a period of time."

Ridhima looked toward the room.

"So... he really doesn't remember anything?"

The doctor nodded.

A strange feeling settled in her chest.

The mysterious man.

The strange clothes.

Appearing out of nowhere.

And now...

He couldn't even remember who he was.

"What if he never remembers?" she asked quietly.

The doctor gave her a reassuring smile.

"Most patients recover their memories with time. For now, he needs rest."

Ridhima nodded slowly.

But as she looked through the glass window toward the room-

The unconscious stranger was sitting upright on the hospital bed.

And for some reason...

She had a feeling that his forgotten memories carried secrets far greater than anyone could imagine.

.......

Just then, a nurse came running down the corridor.

"Doctor!" she called out breathlessly. "That patient is-"

"What happened?" the doctor asked immediately.

Before the nurse could finish, a loud commotion echoed from one of the rooms.

Everyone froze.

"What was that?" Ridhima asked nervously.

Another voice followed.

Confused. Frustrated.

And loud enough to be heard from the hallway.

Without wasting another second, the doctor hurried toward the room.

Ridhima followed behind him.

As soon as they reached the doorway-

They stopped.

Shocked.

The mysterious man was no longer lying in bed.

The tall stranger-well over six feet-stood in the middle of the room.

Confusion was written all over his face.

His eyes moved rapidly across the room, taking in the bright lights, unfamiliar machines, and strangely dressed people surrounding him.

For the first time since seeing him on the road, Ridhima noticed how imposing he truly was.

Even standing still, he looked like a warrior.

A very confused warrior.

Several nurses stood around him, trying to calm him down.

"Sir, please relax."

"Please sit down."

"You're safe."

But the stranger only looked more bewildered.

Then he spoke.

And the entire room fell silent.

The language was unlike anything most of them had heard spoken fluently before.

It was pure Sanskrit.

"Kim idam sthanam?"

His voice was deep and commanding.

"Bhavantah kah?"

He looked around the room.

"Katham aham atra agatah?"

The nurses exchanged confused looks.

One of them whispered, "Doctor... what language is he speaking?"

The doctor stared at the patient in disbelief.

"It sounds like Sanskrit..."

The stranger took another step back.

His expression had become cautious now.

Almost defensive.

It was clear he didn't understand a single thing anyone was saying.

And nobody understood him.

The room was quickly filling with tension.

Then suddenly-

His eyes landed on Ridhima.

For a moment...

Everything seemed to stop.

The stranger froze.

Ridhima froze.

Their eyes met.

And something strange happened.

A flicker of recognition crossed his face.

As if he had seen her before.

Somewhere.

Somehow.

The confusion in his eyes softened for just a second.

And Ridhima felt her heartbeat stumble.

Because she had seen that face before too.

Not on the road.

Not in the hospital.

But in a place she couldn't explain.

A p

lace that felt more like a dream than a memory.

The room around them faded into the background.

Neither of them spoke.

Neither of them moved.

Yet somehow...

It felt as though they were the only two people in the room.
